Send prayer requests via ‘Undas’ website: CBCP
MANILA – The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is urging the public to send prayer requests for their departed loved ones via the “Undas” website as cemeteries in the country will be closed on November 1 (All Saints’ Day) and November 2 (All Souls’ Day).
Msgr. Pedro Quitorio, CBCP Media Office director, said for this year the website has some new features.
“There will be live online Masses that will be streamed from different places,” he said in an article posted on the CBCP news website.
“One can even light a candle online while praying for their dear departed,” the Catholic priest added.
It also offers audio and video reflection and catechesis on All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day.
The website was revived by the media office of the CBCP so that Filipinos can request prayers for their dearly departed.
Now on its 9th year, it was originally intended for Filipino seafarers and those in other countries who had no way of celebrating Undas.
The platform initially highlighted an online facility to request for Masses for their beloved dead.
The government has ordered the closure of cemeteries nationwide from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4 due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
