NCRPO chief to operatives on incident-free SONA: Job well done

MANILA, July 25 — With the peaceful conclusion of President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) Monday, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Director Oscar Albayalde extended his gratitude to all security troops who made the event incident free.

“In behalf of the Team NCRPO, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the men and women who rendered duty yesterday (Monday) for the second SONA of our President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

An estimated 6,000 police officers and troops were deployed, albeit unarmed, at the Batasang Complex, where Duterte delivered his second SONA.

“After assessing the situation on all the areas covered by our joint forces we have concluded the day with no untoward incidents or occurences. The crowd peaked to at least 16,000 both cause-oriented and pro-government groups,”Albayalde stressed.

The NCRPO chief added that traffic management as well as crowd control went by smoothly until all visitors left the venue.

“We attribute this success to the combined efforts of all agencies who worked together since the planning stage to ensure zero incident. I commend all our augmentation forces who worked with us. We all made the second SONA of the President a peaceful one,” he disclosed.

“We look forward to working with all of you again. As this task has concluded successfully, we will jot rest, we will now prepare and revisit our security plans for the much anticipated ASEAN Leaders meeting in November. I enjoin everyone including the public to help us as we all prepare to welcome our world leaders here at the National Capital Region. Again, thank you,” the NCRPO chief concluded.
