MANILA—Globe Telecom is committed on strengthening its relationship with its information technology (IT) partners to enhance its operations and improve customer experience.

Globe Chief Information Officer Pebbles Sy-Manalang said its Information Systems Group (ISG) seeks to engage its IT providers into strategic partners towards ensuring their success.

“We have been focused on delivering the IT requirements of the business but our relationship with some of our vendors remains transactional. Our aspiration is for the Globe Information Systems Group (ISG) to turn select IT providers into strategic partners and engage them to become Globe’s trusted advisors who share our vision, as well as our success,” Manalang said in a statement.

Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu said the company’s continuing growth was driven by the support and cooperation of its IT affiliates.

“Our partners have been instrumental in helping us get to where we are at today. Needless to say, these partnerships have benefited Globe in many ways as they provide enormous support to our various endeavors. We want to be able to continue building on these relationships now that we have achieved some level of success in the mobile business and as we aim to grow our wireline business,” he emphasized.

At the 1st Annual ISG Movers Awards, Amazon Web Services was declared “ISG Mover of the Year” for its support for Globe Telecom’s journey to become “IT partner of choice” within and beyond Globe.

Amazon Web Services was also declared as “2016 Service Provider of the Year” for providing support in its operations and consultancy services.
