Saks Off 5th discount outlets line up four more Canadian locations

TORONTO – Hudson’s Bay Co. has picked four more locations for its Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th discount fashion outlets.

The retailer said Thursday that a second wave of stores would open in Quebec City, Montreal, Winnipeg and Delta, B.C., starting next fall.

Sak’s Off 5th brand is angled towards the growing aspirational upper middle class in Canada, which likes to wear popular high-end fashion labels like Dolce & Gabbana, Paul Smith and Alexander McQueen, but wants to pay a more reasonable price.

All four locations will be inside Ivanhoe Cambridge malls as part of a business partnership.

Before they launch, Hudson’s Bay plans to open three locations in Ontario – in Ottawa, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Vaughan, just outside Toronto, in the spring.

Hudson’s Bay, which acquired Saks two years ago, plans to open as many as 25 Off 5th locations across Canada by 2019.

The latest round of Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th announced by the company:

– Delta, B.C., fall 2016

– Quebec City, spring 2017

– Winnipeg, spring 2017

– Montreal, fall 2018
