PH set to host ASEAN meetings on agriculture

MANILA — The country will be the host of the upcoming meetings of the ASEAN Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF).

The Philippines will the host for the  37th AMAF meeting, the 15th AMAF+3 meeting, and the 4th ASEAN-India Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry (AIMMAF), this year.

Other related activities aiming to talk about the regional and international food and agriculture issues are also scheduled from September 7-11.

The progress of the cooperation policy framework on food, agriculture and forestry, among other things, will be included in the topics to be discussed.

Agriculture, fisheries and forestry ministers from 10 ASEAN countries will be attending the meetings.

Included in the countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Officials from other countries including Japan, South Korea, and China are also expected to attend the AMAF+3 and India the AIMMAF.
