MANILA — The Department of Tourism (DOT) has urged both domestic and foreign tourists alike to share more photos of Philippine tourist spots and share them on the world wide web.

On its official Instagram account, the department thanked tourists for tagging the account in some of their most creative shots of the country since its account was launched.

According to DOT, in recent weeks the account has been overwhelmed by the number of sunset photos it was tagged on, it led to the idea of creating its own Weekend Hashtag Project.

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team for a chance to be featured on the department’s Instagram account.

For next week, the department has selected the theme, “Blue and Green.”

“Over the weekend, tag us on your most creative shots showing the blend of the colors blue and green,” the DOT said via Instagram.

“Use hashtag #BLUEandGreenPH and we will collate them next week!” the department said.

DOT also encouraged those posting photos to use the hashtags #VisitPH2015, #VisitPhilippines2015, and #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.
