MANILA — President Benigno Aquino III arrived at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig Friday morning to lead the necrological service for the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) commandos killed in a “misencounter” with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on January 25, 2015.

The service was shortly put on hold as the attendees await the arrival of the Commander-In-Chief.

After SAF officers delivered their messages in memory of their fallen comrades, the bereaved families were given time to approach the caskets of the brave law enforcers.

Later on, Aquino approached the families to personally award the Gawad ng Katapangan medal to the fallen policemen.
