PNP to its forces: Do your job, don’t take selfies
MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) urged its forces to be responsible enough to attend to their duties before taking a “selfie” while they are detained in places that will be graced by Pope Francis from January 15 to 19.
During a press briefing on Monday, PNP Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor called out to all 25,000 policemen not to brag about their involvement in the event.
“Be professional. You took a selfie but did you perform your duty?” said Mayor. “Their mindset should be even though I have no selfie, I will be proud that during the activity, I was part of the detail.”
He also reminded all policemen of their primary purpose during the papal visit and that is to secure the Pope and the people.
