PBA approves Mercado-Miranda trade

MANILA — After playing for only one game for GlobalPort, Sol Mercado has been shipped to another team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in exchange of Denok Miranda of Barako Bull.

This after the PBA Commissioner’s Office approved on Thursday the Mercado-Miranda trade less a month Mercado returned to the GlobalPort from San Miguel Beer in exchange of Alex Cabagnot.

It was Mercado’s fourth team in his seven-year career in the Asia’s first professional basketball league.

The 30-year-old Mercado started his PBA career with Rain or Shine.

Mercado and Miranda are expected to provide stability in the backcourt of their new respective teams beginning in the first import-laced conference of the 40th PBA season.
