Swiss national, arrested on charges of trafficking and child abuse

CEBU – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) took into custody a Swiss national on charges of human trafficking and child abuse.

The suspect, identified as Walter Hauck, was arrested on Saturday in Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu.

NBI agents and officials from Children’s Legal Bureau and the Provincial Women’s Commission (PWC) raided Hauck’s residence in Barangay Talisay, also in Cebu – where

Hauck setlled after retirement – and rescued five minors. They also confiscated sex toys found inside Hauck’s home.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has taken the five minors into custody in order to assist them with the necessary legal processes.

Hauck is currently in detention at the NBI facility in Region 7, while the investigation is ongoing.
