PH to host 2015 Apec summit

MANILA – The Philippines will be hosting the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Economic Leader’s Meeting and the Apec CEO summit next year.

President Aquino will formally accept the task from Chinese President Xi Jinping during the conclusion of the two-day Apec leader’s meeting.

“It is the most influential and high-level business event in the Asia-Pacific [region],” Malacañang said.

The CEO summit is a dialogue among Apec leaders and businessmen in the region and around the world, conducted annually.

Meanwhile, a short promotional video was presented in a short ceremony highlighting the Philippines as the next host of the CEO summit.

The summit will be held in Manila on Nov. 15-17 next year.

The video featured famous personalities in the country including world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, international singer Lea Salonga and national brands like Jollibee, Bench and Cebu Pacific.

Business tycoons including Fernando Zobel de Ayala and Doris Magsaysay-Ho expressing Filipino businessmen’s excitement about hosting the CEO summit next year, were also featured in the video.
