‘Kababayan Today’ host and producer visits Philippine Consulate General

Philippine Consul Roberto T. Bernardo, Acting Head of the Consulate General in Honolulu and Ms. Jannelle So, host and producer of Kababayan Today.

Los Angeles-based host and producer of Kababayan Today, Ms, Jannelle So, visited the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu on May 8 as part of her show’s feature of the 22nd Annual Filipino Fiesta held on May 10 at the Honolulu Civic Center grounds.

Kababayan Today, formerly KababayanLA, is America’s longest-running and only locally-produced show for and about Filipinos. It broadcasts over the air in Southern California, reaching 6.3 million households on LA 18, KSCI-TV. In May 2013, Kababayan Today began broadcasting daily on KIKU-TV in Hawaii. KIKU-TV broadcasts on Channel 20 and on Oceanic Cable Channel 9. Worldwide, it can be viewed at www.youtube.com/kababayanla18.

The formal launch of Kababayan Today on KIKU-TV was held at areception at the Philippine Consulate on 3 October 2013.

The special feature on the Filipino Fiesta, which will include Ms. So’s interviews with Consul Roberto T. Bernardo, Acting Head of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, and Vice Consul Joyleen E. Santos, will be aired on May 20 over at LA 18, KSCI-TV.
