Ilocos Norte Congressman Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Fariñas drew ire from netizens after a video of his visit to the Vatican was released–showing how he managed to get a “selfie” with Pope Francis.

In the video (check out the post from The Pinoy Catholic), Fariñas was approaching the Pontiff with Mercedes Tuazon, the Philippine Ambassador to the Vatican.

Upon reaching the Pope, Tuazon extended her hand to pay her respects to the Pontiff when Fariñas got in between them and even bumped Tuazon’s head with his hand as he posed with the Pope for a selfie.

Fariñas calls the photo as “the selfie of his life.”

Netizens everywhere are showing their distaste of the congressman’s actions in front of the Ambassador and most importantly in front of the Pope himself.
