MANILA— A subsidiary of listed cement manufacturer Cemex Holdings Philippines Inc. (CHP) has gotten the green light from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the proposed expansion of its production line in Antipolo City, Rizal.

CHP told the local bourse that it has been granted an environmental compliance certificate (ECC) by the DENR, covering the proposed expansion of the cement production line of Solid Cement Corp., which will pave the way for the expansion of its production capacity by about 1.5 million metric tons per year.

It said the ECC amends the certificate previously issued for its existing cement plant.

CHP produces and markets cement and cement products, including ready-mix concrete and clinker, through direct sales, using its extensive marine and land distribution network.

It is one of the largest cement manufacturers in the country based on installed annual capacity.
