Couple, 2 others fall in Bulacan drug busts

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan — Four drug peddlers, including a couple, were arrested during a series of anti-drug operations by the city police here Saturday.

In a report to Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., city police chief Supt. Fitz Macariola on Sunday identified the arrested suspects as couple Arnel and Angeline Orabao, both 31 years old, residents of Barangay Graceville; Johna Ray Lopez, 18, single, a resident of Barangay Maharlika; and Liezel dela Cruz, 49, married, of Barangay Muzon, all in this city.

He said the couple was busted after selling PHP500 worth of shabu to a police undercover agent.

Ten more plastic sachets containing an estimated five grams of suspected shabu worth PHP8,000 were recovered from the suspects, together with the marked money, Macariola said.

Lopez, on the other hand, was arrested by another anti-narcotics police team after selling a plastic sachet of shabu to a police agent. Six more plastic sachets containing more or less two grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP6,000 were recovered from the suspect.

Dela Cruz, on the other hand, was arrested during a buy bust operation in Barangay Muzon where six plastic sachets of susoected shabu weighing more or less five grams were recovered from her.

The San Jose del Monte Police is set to file charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “ComprehensiveDangerous Drugs Act of 2002” against the arrested suspects. (PNA)
