Southwest monsoon continues to bring rains over Luzon, Visayas

MANILA—The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon and the Visayas will cause rainshowers over these areas on Friday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos, Cordillera, Bicol, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Western Visayas and Zambales.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds will blow from southwest over Luzon and the Visayas, and from southeast to south over Mindanao.

The country’s coastal waters will be slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
