JAKARTA—Deputy of the national police chief Commissioner General Syafruddin said that an alleged suicide bombing blast in Jakarta’s Kampung Melayu area hit six people, two of them were killed.

The bomb hit five police personnel, killing one of them and a civilian alleged as the perpetrator, Syafruddin added.

The dead victims were identified as Second Brigadier Topan Al Agung from the Jakarta Metro Police and civilian.

“It is temporarily assumed that a suicide bombing has (occurred),” Syafruddin disclosed.

All the victims have been rushed to the hospitals of Premier in Jatinegara and Budi Asih.
