A recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) revealed that  eight out of ten Filipinos express “much” trust in President Duterte.

In the poll taken from March 25 to 28, it has been observed that only ten percent of Filipinos have “little” trust in the President. The numbers suggest that Duterte had earned a trust rating +70 which is classified as an excellent rating.

The numbers had been consistently high for  President Duterte as observed in the past four consecutive quarters since starting from a +26 upon his election in May 2016.

Although there has been a drop in his ratings in Luzon and Visayas, it had gradually increased in Metro Manila and in Mindanao.

Metro Manila went from “very good” to “excellent” which garners the President an 11 percent increase in his trust ratings while Mindanao increased nine percent.

The Palace had welcomed the survey, with Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella saying that “with him, we are assured that the interests of the Filipino people come first and last.” He also stated that the President continues to be the most trusted national leader today. He also urged Filipinos to be “vigilant and engage in an active pursuit of change.
