MANILA–Experts are expecting damage andaftershocks from the magnitude 6.0 quake that rocked Batangas province Saturday afternoon.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) traced the 3 p.m.-quake of tectonic origin some 12 kms north, 57° west of Mabini, Batangas at a depth of 24 kms.

Phivolcs said the quake was reported at intensity VII in Mabini; intensity VI in Calatagan, Nasugbu and Tingloy all in Batangas; intensity V in Batangas City, Sto. Tomas and Lemery also all in Batangas and in Tagaytay City; intensity IV in Dasmarinas, Cavite province, Pateros and Quezon province’s Lucena City; intensity III in Makati City, Pasay City, Quezon City, Muntinlupa City, Malabon City and Mandaluyong City all in Metro Manila and in Bacoor, Cavite as well as intensity II in Daet, Camarines Norte province.
