Dela Rosa: ‘War against hard drug traffickers’ won’t be affected by Sueno’s removal from DILG post
MANILA–Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Tuesday assured that the PNP’s “war against hard drug traffickers” will not be affected by the removal from post of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno.
This was the reaction of the PNP chief after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte removed Sueno from the Cabinet citing “loss of trust and confidence”.
Dela Rosa, in a press conference in Camp Crame, Quezon City, said their campaign against hard drug traffickers will continue even if there will be a new DILG chief.
He said the removal of Sueno shows that President Rodrigo Duterte is serious in eradicating corruption in government.
“That only goes to show that the President is really serious in ridding the ranks of government of corruption,” he said.
However, the PNP chief clarified that it does not necessarily mean that Sueno was removed from the DILG post due to corruption.
