MANILA–Rains may prevail over Visayas and Mindanao as the easterlies affect the eastern part of these islands, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

The tail-end of a cold front, meanwhile, is affecting southern Luzon, PAGASA added.

In its 24-hour forecast, the agency expects cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms to prevail over Bicol, eastern Visayas, Caraga, northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and Quezon.

Cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from northeast will prevail over Luzon and eastern Visayas.

Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from east to northeast with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
