MANILA — Senator Grace Poe may have violated the anti-graft law for publicly supporting the Iglesia ni Cristo, according to a counsel for former INC minister Isaias Samson Jr.

Poe earlier questioned Justice Secretary Leila de Lima’s attention to the criminal complaint against INC leaders who were accused of serious illegal detention.

The senator was wondering why the case is being considered despite the fact that there were no witnesses in the case yet.

This according to Poe is despite the many other cases needed to be resolved by the department.

Poe also asked De Lima to explain the merits of the case to the public and tell the people of her reasons for allowing DOJ to handle it.

“Siguro mas makabubuti…ay humarap siya sa mga tao na nagra-rally ‘pag mahinahon, at i-eksplika kung ano ba ang sitwasyon, bakit nangyari na gano’n,” she said.

(It might be better if she face the protesters and explain the situation and why it happened that way.)
