MANILA — Senator Juan Ponce Enrile might have to face further court trial, despite the ruling favoring his bail.

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Thursday said that there are still motions filed against his bail, telling everyone that the court’s ruling granting Enrile’s petition to bail is not yer final.
“What I would tell the public is to wait. Because there is still a motion for reconsideration … Wait please,”
“Yes, because there are pronouncements that have been made … Motions can still be filed.” she added.
The Court earlier ruled to release Enrile, who was charged with plunder, on basis of humanitarian grounds.
Sereno, however, was among the four magistrates who voted against the grant.
During the third annual “The Chief Justice Meets the Press,” Sereno was asked about his “no” vote.
“It’s an unqualified concurrence with the dissent. So that’s it … That’s already a complete answer,” Sereno told a panel of select journalists.
