MANILA – UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey fired back at boxing welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. for his remarks comparing his purse split with hers.
Contrary to Mayweather’s claims, Rousey pointed out that she has actually been making twice or thrice more money than he does.
“[Floyd] said, ‘when you make $300 million in a night, then you can give me a call.’ And I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter and I’m a woman,” Rousey said in an interview with TMZ.
“I think, I actually make two to three times more than he does per second. So when he learns to read and write, he can text me,” she added.
It can be noted that Mayweather has been rumored to be illiterate.
Rousey and Mayweather have long been engaged in verbal jabs. Winning the ESPY for Fighter of the Year, the 28-year-old UFC star spat at the American boxer saying, ‘I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once.’
It can also be noted that Mayweather has a history of domestic violence.
