MANILA – In a Pep.ph report, TV host Willie Revillame admitted that he has been considering joining the political race, especially since several persons have been wooing him to run in next year’s national elections.
“Mararamdaman mo yun, e. You can feel that sa sarili mo, e… Walang convincing power ‘yun. Ikaw ‘yan,” Revillame said.
(You’ll feel it. You can feel that in yourself… There’s no convincing power there. That’s you.)
“Pag-iisipan kong mabuti ‘yan… Oktubre pa ‘yan, e. Titingnan ko. Pero pag ito, kapag nag-daily show, hindi ka na pupuwede,” he said, referring to his variety game show “Wowowin.”
(I’ll think about it… That’s still on October. I’ll see. But if this, if this becomes a daily show, you can no longer [consider it].)
Should Revillame feel the need to seek a government position, he would not hesitate doing so.
“Kung nakikita mong… kailangan siguro. Kasi una, ayoko yung… ako, personal ko lang, huwag naman akong mamasamain, nalulungkot ako ‘pag nakikita kong nag-aaway-away sa Senado,” he said.
(If you see… that it’s a need. Because first, I don’t like… me, personally, I hope this won’t backfire on me, I’m saddened when I see conflicts in the Senate.)
“Binoto kayo ng mga tao, tapos ‘yan ang mapapanood namin sa TV, nag-aaway-away kayo?,” he added.
(The people voted for you, then that’s what we’ll see on TV, that you’re arguing?)
Revillame believed that public servants should instead focus on improving the lives of the Filipinos.
