MANILA – TV host Willie Revillame admitted losing about P50 million as the producer of his GMA blocktimer game show “Wowowin.”

In a press conference on Wednesday, Revillame shared that aside from producing and hosting ‘Wowowin,’ he also had numerous commercial properties.

He then admitted thinking of focusing on his properties which provided him with income instead of his afternoon game show which did not give him advertisers.

But despite almost giving with the show, he continued with it to be able to help more Filipinos in need.

“Going P50 million. Okay lang ‘yan. Pera lang naman yun… Kikitain natin ‘yan. Tsaka, [nung] nagsimula naman tayo sa ‘Wowowee,’ wala naman akong pera, e,” he said.

(Going P50 million. It’s okay. It’s just money… We’ll earn that back. Besides, when we started in ‘Wowowee,’ I didn’t have money then.)

“So, ibinabalik ko lang lahata yun [sa tao],” he added.

(So, I’m just returning it all to the people.)

Prior GMA and Revillame’s official announcement of ‘Wowowin’s cancellation, there were already speculations that the variety game show would stop from airing after only three months.

Days after the official announcement, it has been clarified that Wowowin’s cancellation was only temporary while talks about making it a daily show were being held.
