MANILA – In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Kapamilya actor-performer Gerald Anderson admitted committing mistakes in his past relationships and shared how he learned from them.

“Ang dami ko rin na-realize sa buhay ko… Unti-unti, I’m trying to learn from it, be a better person. Siyempre, alam ko na nakasakit ako ng mga tao na I care about na hindi ko naman sinasadya,” he said.

(I realized a lot in my life… Slowly, I’m trying to learn from it, be a better person. Of course, I know that I’ve unintentionally hurt people whom I care about.)

“Nasaktan din ako siyempre but God is good… Let’s move on and become a better person. ‘Yun lang ang gusto kong mangyari,” he added.

(I got hurt as well but God is good… Let’s move on and become a better person. That’s all what I want to happen.)

Gerald also firmly believed on second chances.

“Kung may nagawa kang mali, you can always come back, you can always become a better person. Learn from it… Sa buhay ko, ang dami ko rin nagawang mali, pero hindi pa tapos ang buhay ko. I can always make it right and I can always be a better person, ganun din sa lahat,” he said.

(If you’ve done something wrong, you can always come back, you can always become a better person. Learn from it… In my life, I’ve committed a lot of mistakes, but my life isn’t over yet. I can always make it right and I can always be a better person. The same goes for all.)

Right now, Gerald opted to enjoy being single for a while and to focus more on his career.

“Trabaho lang. Hindi po ako naghahanap… Masaya lang po ako sa kung anuman ang nangyayari ngayon at doon muna ako,” he said.

([I’m] just working. I’m not looking [for a new girlfriend]. I’m just happy on what’s happening right now and I plan to let it stay that way.)

“I enjoy myself, be a better person,” he added.

It can be recalled that Gerald recently broke up with actress Maja Salvador. Both stayed mum on the reason of their split.
