MANILA — Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III won’t get Senator Nancy Binay’s nod on his version of the anti-political dynasty bill.

Binay remains firm on her stand that it should be the Filipino people who should decide on whether to support only one member or more of a family running during elections.

This is following Pimentel’s statement that he want to bring the ban on dynasties to a national level.

“If you are a national official, then your relatives within the prohibited degree of relationship should not be allowed to run in any elective position nationwide,” Pimentel said.

Binay, however said that she sees nothing wrong with getting more than one family member elected in the government.

Binay is the daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay and the sister of Makati Rep. Abigail Binay and Makati Mayor Junjun Binay.

Prior to being elected as the country’s vice president, Jejomar Binay also served as the Makati Mayor.

Senator Binay’s mother Elenita Binay also was a former mayor of Makati.
