MANILA — Asked if there will be a kissing scene with Kathryn Bernardo in the remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” Daniel Padilla only said, “Sana.”

The actor, however retracted and said he meant it as a joke.

In an interview on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Thursday the two were asked if their first kissing scene will be aired in the series.

Shocked about the question, Bernardo only laughed while Padilla was all smiles.

Bernardo and Padilla will be portraying the roles of Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac, originally portrayed by Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.

The series, first aired in 2000, scored one of the all-time highest television rating in the country.

It was also shown in over 20 foreign territories.

Bernardo hinted that they did some departures from the original story to cater to a more “modern” audience.

This year’s remake of the said series was directed by Rory B. Quintos and starred by Angelica Panganiban and Jodi Sta. Maria.
