Aquino continues talks with possible candidates for 2016
MANILA — President Aquino said that he is still in talks with individuals who can continue the reforms he started.
In an interview aired today by Bombo Radyo, Aquino said that there are only a few slots left in the administration’s senatorial slate.
“On my list, there are many openings still but the number of people applying for these openings are about 5 times more than that,” he said.
While Aquino said that there are only two slots left and that 10 of the candidates were already chosen, he refused to mention their names.
“The problem is if I mention any now, those that won’t be mentioned will call me from today until election day,” he joked.
The president added that the final list of the candidates he will be endorsing for next year’s election is yet to be finalized.
Aquino is also eyeing for Grace Poe adding that she has the same views and directions as his administration’s.
“We believe she has the right views, or is going in the right direction.
It’s important for me to maintain the coalition with the same results as 2013,” he said.
He also refused to mention anything about the position he discussed with Poe during their meeting.
