PH participates in Canada food and beverage show

A group of 10 food exporting companies from the Philippines will be joining SIAL Canada, the International Food and Beverage tradeshow on Apr. 28 to 30, at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto said.

For the first time, the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) through the DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (Amas) under the leadership of Asst. Secretary Leandro Gazmin, organized food exporters to participate in this trade show.

According to Philippine Agriculture Attaché Dr. Josyline Javelosa, the participating companies are Jamla Corporation, Ilocos Food Products, Japan Phils. Malunggay (JPM) Farm Inc., Pearl Foods International Inc., Prime Fruits International Inc., RDEX Food International Phils. Inc., Rejanos Bakery, Team Asia Corporation, Tropicana Food Products Inc., and Refmad-V Enterprises.

The products to be showcased are hot chocolate classic tablea, instant gourmet choco mix, instant chocolate champorado, chichacorn, banana chips, sweet potato chips, malunggay products (powder, capsule, tea, flakes, furikake, noodles, snack foods), buko pie variants, cassava chips, mango juice, guyabano juice, natural tuna cuts (steaks and loins), milkfish (plain and marinated), cookies (arrowroot and dragon fruit) dragon fruit (fresh, dehydrated, energy tea and biscuits), organic virgin coconut oil (VCO), organic coconut cream powder, organic aseptic coconut cream/water, coconut cream, coconut water, coconut milk powder, winterized VCO, coconut health supplement for Alzheimer’s, coconut mouth spray, coconut nasal spray, VCO lotion, coconut lotion, coconut sun block lotion, coconut soap, coconut flour, coconut cream snack bar, coconut breakfast power drink, VCO spray and coconut lip gloss.

SIAL Canada brings together exhibitors and buyers from around the world from the retail and foodservice industry according to SIAL organizers. It is the largest food trade show in Canada and will bring more than 800 national and international exhibitors from 45 countries while welcoming more than 14,000 buyers from Canada, the United States and 64 other countries.

The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, the Trade Office in New York and the Office of the Agriculture Attaché in Washington D.C. are inviting buyers to visit the Philippine companies at the Direct Energy Centre Booth Nos. 845, 847, 849, 944, 946 and 948.
