MANILA — Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila M. De Lima on Friday said that the DOJ Special Team will travel to Mamasapano, Maguindanao next week for the conduct of the investigation into the alleged massacre of 44 Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) troopers.

According to De Lima, based on the report of Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera, the chairman of the Team, their group will conduct the ocular inspection on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, in the area in Mamasapano where the alleged massacre of 44 PNP-SAF troopers took place.

De Lima said that the DOJ-National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) group already informed the Joint Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (JCCCH) of the Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) that they will conduct the ocular inspection in the place where the alleged massacre of “Fallen 44” transpired.
