Purisima vacates ‘White House’
MANILA — Former PNP chief Alan Purisima will now be leaving the so called “White House.”
Purisima has started vacating the controversial residence allegedly built for himself at the expense of several millions of pesos in private donations.
Two days after President Aquino announce his resignation, Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr. said that Purisima started moving out of his quarters.
Aquino made the announcement which in a broadcast televised nationally. The president said that he accepted Purisima’s resignation with regret as the former chief has started even during the term of his mother, Cory Aquino.
Meanwhile, Cerbo said that it was normal for an outgoing chief to vacate his quarters following the resignation.
“The White House is the official residence of the PNP chief, so with [Purisima’s] resignation, he no longer has the privilege [to stay there],” said Cerbo.
The said house has been one of the subjects of the corruption allegations thrown against him last year.
