MANILA — Sen. Jinggoy Estrada on Monday has successfully blocked the testimony of an officer of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and the report on the senator’s bank records.
For the third time around, Estrada was able to thwart the statements of AMLC bank officer Orlando Negradas Jr.
He was also able to block the presentation of the results of the investigation conducted into Estrada’s bank accounts.
Hence, Estrada, who is currently detained for his involvement in the pork barrel scam, successfully got another reprieve from the anti-graft court.
During the resumption of the senator’s bail hearing, the Fifth Fivision of Sandiganbayan was requested to temporarily prohibit the prosecution from conducting Negradas’ direct examination.
This is because Estrada’s camp will be seeking the court to reconsider their Feb. 2 ruling which junked the detained senator’s motion against the AMLC report.
