DFA searching for kin of OFW in coma for six years in Dubai hospital

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is searching for the relatives and friends of Villamor Titco Carreos, a 58-year old overseas Filipino worker who has been hospitalized in a hospital in Dubai for the last six years.

According to the Philippine consulate general in Dubai, Carreos was working as a labor supervisor at the Golden Sands Hotel Apartments in the Emirate city in 2007. He was hospitalized on November 6, 2008 after an attack of high blood pressure, for which doctors performed brain surgery on Carreos The patient, however, slipped into a comatose state.

Carreos has been confined in the Rashid Hospital in Dubai for the past six years.

“Ayon sa mga duktor, maaari nang umuwi sa Pilipinas si G. Carreos at dito na sumailalim sa karagdagang paggagamot kasama ng kanyang pamilya,” the consulate generate said.
(According to doctors, Mr. Carreos may return to the Philippines and receive further treatment in the country together with his family.)

Carreos was born on December 10, 1956, and is said to have a daughter by the name of Pia Carreos; as well as niece, Lorie May Carreos.

Foreign affairs officials said his last known place of residence in the Philippines was 2304 Tramo Street corner Potacio, Barangay 112, Pasay City.
