#NasaanAngPangulo tops worldwide Twitter trends

MANILA – Netizens on Thursday all have a single question following the arrival of the bodies of 42 slain PNP-SAF commandos at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City – “Where is the President?”

The bodies of the elite cops, who were killed after clashing with Muslim rebels in Maguindanao, received a heroes’ welcome.

However, President Benigno Aquino III was nowhere to be seen. Later on, it was revealed that he attended the inauguration of Mitsubishi’s plant in Sta. Rosa in Laguna instead of paying respects to the fallen heroes.

Social media users flooded Twitter with the hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo. The said hashtag trended both locally and nationwide.

According to Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, the President was not scheduled to attend the arrival honors. Instead, Aquino will be at the necrological services on Friday morning at Camp Bagong Diwa.

Nevertheless, netizens were one and the same in saying that the President should not have prioritized the Mitsubishi event.
