MANILA — The possible arrest of Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay will take its toll on Binay’s children, according to Senator Nancy Binay.

“Pagtutuunan ko mga anak ng kapatid ko. Wala na ngang mommy ang mga bata, ngayon mawawala pa father nila,” the senator said.

(I will just focus on my brother’s children. They do not have their mother and now, they might be losing their father.)

Senator Binay broke in tears when asked about her reaction to the arrest warrant issued by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

“Ang daming hindi dapat madamay, pero dahil sa personal na ambisyon, wala silang pakialam basta maluklok lang sila sa 2016,” she adds.

(There are a lot (of people) who are not supposed to be involved, but because of their personal ambition, they care nothing but to win in the 2016 elections.)

Senator Binay lamented that her brother’s children will again suffer from losing their parent.

“Ngayong gabi, matutulog ang mga pamangkin ko na wala ang ama nila, dalawang beses na nila mararamdaman na wala ang mga magulang nila.”

(Tonight, they will sleep without their father. Its their second time to experience the loss of a parent.)

Kennely Ann, wife of Mayor Binay died after giving birth to her child in 2009.
