MANILA, Philippines – Food Security Chief Francis Pangilinan is calling for applicants to fill both entry-level and senior positions at the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), in light of the fact that only 18 months remain under the current administration.

Pangilinan made the call via his Twitter account, on which he posted that the PCA is in need of deputy administrators for its administrative and finance branch, and also for its research and development branch.

“We are calling on the best and the brightest graduates whose potential can help us further improve and explore new innovations in the coconut industry,” the former Senator said..

Pangilinan added that Romulo Arancon Jr PCA administrator, is in the process of communicating with numerous universities and colleges in the country, with the purpose of encouraging graduates to apply for the positions.

There are 190 vacancies in the PCA’s central and regional offices. Posts range technical positions, to administrative and finance positions.

“Infusing new blood always revitalizes an organization and combining them with dedicated and tested insiders will ensure the PCA will become a highly professional, effective and dynamic public institution to meet the demands of the times,” Pangilinan pointed out.

The openings were created under the agency’s rationalization program, which came into being a as a result of Executive Order No. 366 which “allowed further improvement on the agency’s structure.”
