Abra Vice Mayor hands over gun for examination
MANILA – Vice Mayor Bienvenido Dion Jr. of Tayum, Abra surrendered his gun for ballistics examination following the death of an 11-year-old girl from a stray bullet during the celebration of New Year.
Dion resides near the victim identified as Jercy Decym Tabaday. His handed over his caliber .45 pistol with Seriel Number 763874 on Wednesday to Tayum police chief Senior Inspector Daniel Bandoc.
The victim’s father, Efren Tabaday, said that it never crossed his mind that the vice mayor could be the suspect.
According to Abra police spokesperson Inspector Mary Grace Marron, Dion’s gun would be sent to the Crime Laboratory Service of the Philippine National Police to check if the gun matches the bullet retrieved from the victim’s skull.
