MANILA – The Department of Justice (DOJ) fired an official of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) after the agency discovered that an inmate has his office-issued laptop in possession.

According to DOJ, Superintendent Catalino Malinao also obstructed NBP’s Security and Patrol Unit’s (SPU) operation.

Aside from discharge, Malinao will no longer be entitled to his retirement benefits and eligibility to be reemployed to other branch of the government.
