MANILA — A magnitude 5.4 struck Batangas and was felt also in Metro Manila on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 5:26 p.m. with its epicenter traced 17 kilometers southwest of Calatagan in Batangas.
Phivolcs added that tremor was felt at Intensity 4 in Tagaytay City, while Intensity 3 felt in Quezon City; Paranaque City; Calatagan, Batangas; Batangas City; and Taguig City.
The agency noted that the quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 108 kilometers.
Philvocs said there was no casualty or damage reported from the temblor but aftershocks are expected.
