Cynthia Villar won’t allow Manny to run for president again

MANILA – Reacting to reports that Manny Villar is among the four contenders considered by the Nacionalista Party to run in the next elections, Senator Cynthia Villar said he would not want her husband to run for president again, if she had her way.

“Ako, mas gusto ko ng simpleng buhay, wala nang problema,” she told reporters on Wednesday.

(I prefer a simple life with no more worries.)

The other senators reported to be considered by the NP in the next elections include Senators Antonio Trillanes IV, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Former senator Villar ran for president in 2010 and was defeated by then senator and now President Benigno Aquino III.

Meanwhile, Senator Villar said her husband is no longer interested in running for the presidency in 2016.

“I think it’s destiny. Hindi naman ‘yon something na pinagplaplanuhan, (It’s not something that you plan)” she said.
