MANILA – Dumaguete City in the province of Negros Oriental was hailed as one of the seven best places to retire around the world.
According to a report in American online business news magazine Forbes.com, Dumaguete City is a good place for senior citizens who want to retire.
The survey was based on 2014 retiree overseas index.
The cost of living in Dumaguete City is fairly low. Moreover, the “City of Gentle People” also boasts of good weather given that storms rarely pass their area.
The city also has beautiful beaches and sceneries.
Other cities that made the list include Algarve in Portugal, George Town in Malaysia, and Chiang Mai in Thailand.
