BEIJING  — President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived here Sunday for a three-day working visit to participate in the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Summit.

Philippine Airlines flight PR001, which carried the President and his official delegation from Manila, touched down at 1:20 p.m. at the Beijing Capital International Airport.

Welcoming the President were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Philippine Ambassador to China Erlinda Basilio, Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Bonifacio Cebrian, Jr., and other Chinese officials.

President Aquino’s first official activities upon his arrival here include an attendance to the APEC Chief Executive Officers’ (CEO) Summit Dialogue on Economic Reforms.

This year’s theme for the APEC CEO Summit is “Economic Reforms for Sustaining Competitiveness: What Should the Agenda Be?” The summit will be held at the China National Convention Center. It aims to show the vision for the future of global growth and how APEC and China seek to foster common prosperity for all.

Shortly after that, President Aquino is scheduled to have business meetings with executives from Moody’s, Sanofi, and Johnson & Johnson at the Philippine Embassy in Beijing.
