50 rescued from KTV bar
MANILA – About 50 Filipino and foreign females were saved from a high-end KTV bar in Malate on Thursday.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), at least 10 of the rescued females are deemed to be minors.
The NBI noted that the bar has a high-profile clientele which include Korean and Chinese. Majority of their customers are big spenders.
In addition, the bar features fully furnished VIP rooms with high-end equipment.
Based on the investigations of the Bureau, some female employees of the bar were being hawked for sex.
NBI added that the owner and employees of the said KTV will be charged with child abuse and illegal trafficking.
