MANILA – To put all the piled up allegations against the vice president to an end, Albay Gov. Joey Salceda said, the best thing to do is file an impeachment complaint.
“The accusations are so gross. And therefore I’d rather go to the impeachment process so the Vice President can be cleansed,” he said. “That’s the correct process.”
Salceda noted how the Senate inquiry on the alleged involvement of Vice President Jejomar Binay on the costly Makati City building, has diverted public attention from the more pressing concerns of the government.
The governor said that filing an impeachment would hasten the process and put an end to the ongoing issues against Binay.
He added that, the senators, including Alan Peter Cayetano have already presented enough information on the overpricing accusations and that it is now up to the House of Representatives to discuss any complaint, if filed.
However, he added that complaints are filed; the inquiry of the blue ribbon subcommittee could still go on.
Binay, was accused of receiving money from the allegedly overpriced P2.28-billion, 11-story building which experts said should have cost only P700 million.
