MANILA — Full airline operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 will begin on Friday, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) said on Thursday.

While most of the airport renovation works have already been completed, the DOTC noted that certain systems non-critical to full airline operations, such as the building maintenance system, will be completed within the year.

Five foreign airlines from NAIA T1 will also be transferred to T3 to reduce its annual passenger throughput from the current eight million passengers down to its design capacity of 4.5 million.

These airlines include:
*Delta airlines (To transfer on Aug 1)
*KLM Royal Dutch airlines (Aug 4)
*Emirates Airlines (Aug 15)
*Singapore airlines (Sept 1)
*Cathay Pacific Airways (Sept, to be announced)

NAIA meanwhile advised family, friends and relatives of passengers taking these flights beginning on the dates stated to proceed to NAIA T3.

They can also direct their inquiries pertaining to the arrival and departure flights of these airlines to flight information numbers: NAIA terminal 1 877-1109 local 765 or 2852 and NAIA termianl 3 877-7888 local 8144.

The NAIA T3 will be welcoming 3.5 million more passengers with modern facilities yearly to help decongest NAIA T1.
