“The Legal Wife” ends as most watched TV show, trends on Twitter

The finale of ABS-CBN’s hit family drama series “The Legal Wife,” starring Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador, and JC De Vera topped the list of the most-watched TV programs nationwide last Friday (June 13).

According to data from Kantar Media, the episode dubbed as ‘The End of an Affair,’ hit its all-time high national TV rating of 36.2%, which was a record-breaking achievement for a show aired on the 9:15 PM time slot.

The finale ratings was four times higher than GMA’s “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real” (8.8%). Various hashtags related to the show also trended nationwide and worldwide via the microblogging site Twitter as netizens shared their thoughts about the ending of the entwined love stories of Monica (Angel), Adrian (Jericho), Nicole (Maja), and Max (JC). The series concluded with the four main characters choosing to forgive, move forward, and start anew.

Directed by Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao, “The Legal Wife” also featured some of the country’s best drama actors such as Christopher de Leon, Rio Locsin, Mark Gil, Maria Isabel Lopez, Joem Bascon, Ahron Villena, Janus del Prado, and Matet de Leon.
