LRT, MRT offer free rides on Independence Day

MANILA — Commuters may avail of free rides offered by the Light and Metro Rail Transit (LRT/MRT) on Thursday, Independence Day.

LRT spokesman Hernando Cabrera via Twitter said on Wednesday that free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and later at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The LRT line 1 runs from Baclaran in Pasay to Roosevelt in Quezon City while LRT line 2 runs from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig.

MRT 3, on the other hand, runs from Taft Avenue in Pasay to North Avenue in Quezon City.

“Libreng Sakay” is a government project as an Independence Day treat to the public.
