WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A Filipina woman was allegedly killed by a 27-year-old-man in what seemed to be a ‘random’ attack in New Zealand.

Blessie Gotingco, 56, went missing on Saturday night while on her way home from a work in central Auckland.

Her husband, Antonio, who hasknown her since their primary school days in Cebu City, said their family was “lost in darkness” after her body was recovered two days later by the police in a cemetery near their home.

“She is the light of our home and without her we will be lost in darkness,” he said in a statement released by New Zealand Police as published in a report of AFP.

Antonio said he was also surprised with the community’s support given to him and his family although adding that they are still “broken” after his wife’s death.

“Right now we are just trying to pretend that everything is OK but deep inside we are brokenhearted. We have been robbed, she is gone too soon.”

While the cause of Gotingco’s death has yet to be revealed, a 27-year-old man who was suspected of the killing was already charged with murder on Wednesday.
